Round one
make a magic circle or ring, chain 3 and double crochet 8 into your circle or loop, pull the circle closed, slip stitch to join.
Round two
Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet)
2 double crochet into next space to left of your chain, and 2 double crochet into each space, including one more where you started.
Slip stitch to join.
You should end up with 16 stitches or posts.
Round 3
Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet)
2 double crochet into each space to the left of the first chain, continue round, including one more dc where you started.
Slip stitch to join.
Note – if your scrubbie is starting to get a bit ‘frilly’ you may need to do 1 double crotchet and 4 lots of 2 in each space.
Round 4
Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet)
1 double crochet into each space to the left of the first chain, continue round, including one more dc where you started.
Slip stitch to join.
Cut the end and draw string through loop to pull closed.
(If you want a large scrubbie, on round 5 only 1 dc in each space)
Joining round
Weave in the ends, tying the magic loop end securely, they can come loose.
With wrong sides together, join the two scrubbies with a contrasting color and tie securely.
Form a slip stitch and chain one, single crochet around the scrubbie, the hook should pick up each stitch on the way round. Slip stitch to join, if you want to make a loop, chain 15 and join at the base, slip stitch to join, cut and pull the yarn through the loop, weave in end.
